Oklahoma Chows and Chow Mixes in Municipal Shelters

This section of our website is dedicated to highlighting adoptable and at risk Chow Chows and Chow mixes currently housed in municipal shelters across Oklahoma. Over time, we have seen a growing and heartbreaking need for these incredible dogs—many of whom are overlooked due to breed stigma, limited shelter resources, or lack of breed-specific rescue options. To help bridge that gap, we created this centralized online space where their stories can be seen and shared.

While members of Save Oklahoma Pets Society do actively maintain and update this section, the dogs featured here are not available for adoption through our rescue. Each post is intended to serve as an informational spotlight only. Adoption details, shelter contact information, and status updates are provided on each listing to the best of our ability, based on the information available to us at the time of posting. Because immediately updating our site may not always be possible, we ask that you reach out to us or the shelter to inquire if a dog in a post is still available. We will try to update this in a timely manner. 

Some of the dogs featured may not be available for direct adoption but can be rescued with the help of a foster commitment and a partnering rescue organization.
